Why Ideal Installs
The Ideal Installs approach
Commercial security installation in Dallas is dominated by two kinds of companies: massive national integrators that treat you like an account number, and small residential-focused installers who don't actually know enterprise IT. We built Ideal Installs for the gap in the middle — a locally-owned DFW commercial integrator that speaks fluent network engineering, delivers proper documentation, and stays reachable after the invoice is paid.
Our typical commercial client is an office, retail concept, warehouse, medical practice, or multi-site operator in the 5,000–200,000 sqft range. We handle access control, IP surveillance, conference room AV, enterprise WiFi, structured cabling, digital signage, and intrusion alarms — often as an integrated package where one system informs the others. Access events can trigger camera bookmarks. Camera alerts can route to a security operations dashboard. Conference rooms join IT's managed WiFi and endpoint fleet.
When buyers compare proposals, what usually gets us the job is depth of scope, cleanliness of documentation, and the fact that we show up after the install to support the system — not just the hardware.

Frequently asked
Fully installed cloud-managed access control typically runs $1,500–$3,500 per door, including the reader, electric strike or mag lock, REX, door contact, power, cabling, and cloud license for the first year. Hardwired on-prem systems can be slightly less for the hardware but carry higher ongoing support costs. We scope every opening individually so you're not paying for more hardware than the door needs.
It depends on how your team will actually use the system. Verkada is excellent when IT wants cloud-managed, hands-off maintenance. Avigilon and Axis are strong when deep analytics, LPR, or on-prem storage are required. Hanwha and Hikvision offer outstanding value for price-sensitive deployments with solid image quality. We'll scope your facility and recommend the platform that fits your budget, risk profile, and IT preferences.
Constantly. Most of our commercial work comes through IT directors, facilities managers, and general contractors. We deliver documentation IT needs — rack elevations, IP schemas, credential policies, as-built drawings, and cutsheets — and we coordinate directly with GCs on new-construction and tenant-improvement schedules.
Yes. We regularly schedule nights, weekends, and phased cutovers so your operations never pause. Many of our multi-site retail and warehouse clients require this as a default.
Yes. We handle everything from single-location offices to multi-state rollouts across 20+ sites. Typical multi-site engagements include standardized equipment lists, centralized management dashboards, staggered install schedules, and consistent as-built documentation per location.
Our commercial clients range from 10-person professional offices with a few cameras and doors to multi-building corporate campuses with hundreds of endpoints. We're not the right fit for a single-door retail shop, but from about 5,000 sqft and up we consistently deliver high-quality installations.
Yes. We design and install Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, and BYOD conference room systems using Poly, Logitech, Crestron, and similar platforms. Scope typically includes displays, cameras, mic arrays, touch controllers, wireless presentation, and the network infrastructure behind them.
